English Ministry
For the past fifty years, the Evangelische Stadtmission am Kap (Evangelical City Mission: Cape Town) has met here in Tamboerskloof as a church for the German community in Cape Town and surrounding areas. While thankful to God for this heritage and trusting in him for the future of our German work, we felt called to reach out to the non-German-speaking community around us.
To begin this project, Matthew Courtney was seconded to us by REACH-SA from 2022-2024. Since he joined us, we have begun a number of English-language ministries out of our German congregation (under the title: “Tamboerskloof Community Church”) and have integrated a regular English-language service into our monthly schedule.
Over time, with God’s help, we aim to develop these ministries further and to establish a weekly English service in addition to our German services. You can learn more about our various English ministries below

meets in Tybergerg.
Fridays 18:00-21:00. A weekly meeting for grades 5-12. We spend time together, play table tennis and games, then study the Bible together.
JunE (Young Adults)
meets in Tamboerskloof.
9Wednesdays 19:00-21:00. A weekly meeting for young adults, where we have socials, spend time together, and study God’s Word.
KidsDay / KidsWeek
takes place in Tamboerskloof
We run regular KidsDays and KidsWeeks where we teach the Bible, play games, and run workshops with kids from grades R-5..
